Campaign design for a citizen’s movement

Save Siolim is a movement sparked by the indiscriminate, illegal chopping down of century old trees that expanded to protecting all local ecology. The campaign features information sharing on social media, photography and interviews.

Role
Strategic planning of social media content and designed accessible, easy-to-follow how-to guides to ensure the campaign reached and resonated with a diverse audience.

With on-ground protests garnering more local support, social media reached further afield to connect and collaborate with other such movements.

While the protests can shed light on illegal actions already taken place, this type of information sharing was put in place to prevent future destruction.

Documenting the movement
Photography was crucial as it helped local media outlets pick up the story and for it to reach citizens outside of social media.

How-to guides
A part of the campaign also included ‘how-to’ guides. A short version was on social media with links to download the full form information.

Citizen stories
The campaign included photo stories and write ups about the key faces behind the movement. It told their story, and showcased different perspectives of why a citizen may want to fight for this.

Collaborations
Working with artists to illustrate various messaging that could diversify how we are communicating the campaign.
